Paul Heacock is the electronic publishing manager and senior lexicographer for American English at Cambridge University Press in New York. He has worked for Cambridge since 1992, first as the American editor of the Cambridge International Dictionary of English, then as managing editor of the Cambridge Dictionary of American English and editor in chief of the Cambridge Dictionary of American Idioms. He has recently published the second editon of the Cambridge Dictionary of American English and is overseeing publication of the new Cambridge Academic Content Dictionary.

Since 2003 he has managed ESL/EFL electronic publishing for Cambridge in New York, including student and teacher websites, self-study CD-ROMs, and the first ELT interactive whiteboard software. He has also been involved in the development of American English corpus resources, and played an active role in the creation of the American National Corpus. Paul has also been involved in intercultural education since 1978 as an instructor, administrator, and trustee for a nonprofit, university-level exchange program. He completed his undergraduate work at New York University in 1978.

This workshop will be given in the UTPL offices in Quito and transmitted by videoconference to Loja and the other 22 UTPL centers nationwide.

Thesis Project Tutoring is a subject in the eight term of  the career in EFL. It refers to the investigation prior to get the Bachelor Degree in EFL Teaching.
The research has two parts:
The part corresponding to both, the bibliographical and the field investigations is carried out during the semester.
Once they approve the subject, they have to continue with the second pat of tthe thesis until they present the direstation and the university grants them with  the corresponding Diploma.
I am in charge of revising and grading both parts, the bibliographical and the field research reports for al the students around the country and abroad. Once the students have completed their class work, they continue with the other parts of the thesis. In this moment, the school assigns thesis advisor to all the students in the program.
