Teaching and research
UTPL wants to be a research university. Achieving this goes beyond a single action, it requires a strategy that considers aspects such as increasing the number of fulltime teachers and the creation of research centers, training of teachers in master’s and doctoral research, creation of a “critical mass of researchers“, improvement of physical infrastructure, among others.
Currently more than 200 teachers enrolled in masters or doctoral programs in a total of 26 universities in America and Europe, some 16 have obtained their Ph.D. degrees from doctors.
Part of the training of fourth level allows the development of research among teachers and students within 18 CITTE. In addition to this physical infrastructure, which in recent years has been remodeled and expanded. A total of 35 laboratories operate to offer better opportunities for the development of research.
